Customer Rating: Summary: Good value for the mone Comment: I would have to say that this timer is a good value. it's easy to understand and use, and is relatively solid. I say relatively because if you use the belt clip and pull the timer off, you're likely to pull of the battery cover. Small issue if you don't plan to tug it off. Another tip for those who want to turn it off--it doesn't turn off. Like many LCD timers, the time remains on, using minimal batter power.
It lights up, beeps, and vibrates--choose one or all. Again, fits the bill for me and no complaints.
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for my needs Comment: This little gadget was just what I needed. Smaller than my last one, and with the silent mode. Thanks for a wonderful product!
Customer Rating: Summary: A little quirky ... Comment: I agree with all the positive reviews.
I have had a problem getting it to vibrate and blink at the same time (because I tend to "peek" when I meditate!). When it vibrates, it only flickers dimly. All other combinations work quite well - such as: blink AND beep, vibrate ONLY, etc.
I'm glad I got it for $10. After I ordered, it went up to $15.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good but sensitive Comment: Product works as advertised. The drawback is that it is really sensitive, so if you plan on wearing it or clipping it to anything, expect the alarm to be reset or stopped without your knowledge. This is an excellent timer if you leave it on a counter, but if you want to wear it or move it anywhere, it is useless. I tried to wear it at work as I walked around, and found that it was not effective. Also, wearing the alarm clipped directly against my side on the waistband of my pants as I exercised, I missed my stopping time because I could not feel the vibrating alarm at all. The three alert options are fantastic, but they are not all effective.
Customer Rating: Summary: Can't Live Without It Comment: It's indispensable to me in the office where I use it for meeting reminders. The ability to signal "time's up" with a flashing red light and/or vibration is priceless to me as I do not want to draw attention with a beeping alarm when others are present.
Unfortunately the product itself doesn't live very long. After about 2-3 months the flashing red light and vibration modes--which are unique to this model and made me buy this product in the first place--just stopped working. The timer functions still work, but what use is that? I don't carry it with me or treat it roughly, in fact it just sits on my desk.
This is the second unit I've bought from amazon.com. When the first one gave out, I toggled back and forth the switches that control the sound, vibration and light, and put in fresh batteries but to no avail. Since I liked the product so much, I figured I had a lemon, and since it now cost 50% more, Polder must have identified a QC problem and spent some money to fix it. Alas the second unit lasted as long as the first and now I have to return it.
I'm speculating that the reliability may have to do with the fact that the unit has no OFF switch and therefore stays on all the time. Regardless Polder, please fix this problem and come out with a successor. I can't live without it!
P.S. Would have given it 5 stars if reliability was not an issue.
